Arthel Neville
Arthel Neville is one of the most unique talents working in broadcast television today, with a professional background that spans national and local newscasts, hard news coverage, morning and evening news, as well as syndicated and entertainment programming. She is a very familiar face for her success and popularity working on CNN, The Fox News Channel, E! Entertainment Television, Extra, Good Day Live, Geraldo at Large, The O'Reily Factor and more.
Ms. Neville is a TV pioneer with many firsts in her career. Arthel came to national attention in the early 90's for her interview show Extreme Close-Up on the E! Entertainment Network. With this assignment she became the nation's first high profile African American female entertainment host/co-producer. Next, she launched the hit syndicated show Extra for Warner Bros., becoming the first African American female host of a nationally syndicated entertainment magazine show.
In 2002, Ms. Neville joined CNN to become the host of Talk Back Live with Arthel Neville, becoming the first African American woman to host her own show on the news network. This groundbreaking show combined news of the day, a live audience and guest interviews in-studio and via satellite, phone and the internet. While at CNN Arthel also served as morning, daytime and weekend news anchor. Prior to her work at CNN Ms. Neville worked for the Fox Network syndicated news magazine Fox Files and with The Fox News Channel as anchor, correspondent, host and also as contributor to The O'Reilly Factor.
In 2005, Ms. Neville served as correspondent for the syndicated show A Current Affair, covering many stories including Hurricane Katrina in her hometown of New Orleans. Ms. Neville began her television career in New Orleans at WWL-TV, and later anchored at WVUE. Arthel also worked in the Austin and Houston markets. She is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin and received the Outstanding Young Texas Ex Alumni Award in 2003.
Kathleen Bade
Kathleen Bade is a familiar face to San Diego news viewers from her seven years covering the market. Recognizable from her anchoring at local CBS affiliate KFMB-TV, Ms. Bade served as news anchor for the stations 4:00 pm, 6:30 pm and 11:00 pm newscasts from 2001 through 2007. She delivered the nightly Your World Right Now reports and the award winning Consumer Alert reports. Additionally Kathleen provided live election coverage from Golden Hall and hosted special event programs including coverage of the David Westerfield Murder Trial.
During her tenure at the station its 11:00 pm newscast went to number one in local ratings, a first in 20 years. While in San Diego, Ms. Bade earned two local Emmy Awards for her work. In 2006, San Diego County Adoptions recognized Kathleen's outstanding efforts on behalf of area foster children.
Prior to San Diego, Kathleen worked at KSAZ-TV in Phoenix. Here she began as morning and noon weather anchor, and was quickly promoted to weekend main anchor. Later when the station switched from CBS to Fox, Ms. Bade was on the anchor team for a new 4-hour morning show.
Ms. Bade began her television career as a writer in Phoenix at KPHO-TV and got her on camera start in Yuma. She is a graduate of Arizona State University, where she became the first student to earn the William Randolph Hearst Award from the Walter Cronkite School of Telecommunications and Journalism.
Chrissy Russo
Chrissy Russo is well known to San Diego news viewers for her distinctive style as a local weather and traffic anchor. Recognizable from her anchor six years at local station XETV, Chrissy served as morning weather and traffic anchor beginning in 2002. Chrissy brought a unique audience pleasing high-energy performance to the daily routine of anchoring weather and traffic. Since Opening Day 2006, Chrissy has also been seen locally on Channel 4 San Diego as a feature sports reporter covering Padres game day, interviewing athletes and celebrities alike.
In 2004 Ms. Russo began hosting Global Trends, the in flight business and trends showcase program for Continental Airlines. In 2001 Chrissy reported news for OCN in Santa Ana and also for Metro News and Traffic.in San Diego. From 1999 to 2001 Chrissy was reporter and anchor for CBS affiliate WTKR in Norfolk, Virginia, where she was known for her strong work as a live news reporter.
Ms. Russo is a graduate of Old Dominion University where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Communications and minored in English and Marketing.
